How Should We Plan Our Study?

How Should We Plan Our Study?

The students of today’s generation do not have a proper plan or timetable for study. The schedule for study is not specific. This easily reflects on their performance in the examination. Studying a day or two before the examination is not the study. We know that studying is the lengthy process of reading, writing notes, understanding, memorising, revising and recalling. A proper study plan or routine definitely shows better results. This article shows how one must plan his or her study routine.

The Time table

The timetable is the key to the perfect study routine. The timetable must be planned out in such a way that enough time must be allocated to each subject. The perfect time table is that which consists of little extra time for backup, if one misses out on something some extra time must be allocated for such kinds of things. It must also comprise a specified amount of time for physical activity and hobbies other than daily routine and study schedule. Hobbies might include reading books, solving sudoku and general knowledge questions, playing musical instruments as it keeps the mind and body active.

Study space organisation

Studying at a consistent and organised place yields good concentration and motivation. The study space must consist of things related only to study such as books, pencils, pens, charts and tables related to the specific subject. Things that create distraction like gadgets, music players, video games etc and so on must be avoided.

Deadlines and submission

The student must be clear about the deadline and submission for an assignment or project work. It is better to make a list of assignments and its deadline and paste it next to the study timetable so that the schedule and submissions go hand in hand. Listing out the things helps one to schedule the study pattern in the most effective manner and also aids in accomplishing the task within the given deadlines. For instance when you are about to reach a deadline to submit a few questions of maths then the study timetable can be altered and it can be taken as first priority. Few changes here and there can be made and extra backup time can be utilised to cover up other tasks.

Schedule as per your study pattern

Each and every student has his own study pattern. A student might feel energetic at night and plan for late-night studies and few have the habit of studying early in the morning. So in this way, each student has a unique study pattern. The time spent on various subjects by the student may also vary, Hence the student must schedule the study as per his capability and his routine.

No to procrastination

Procrastination is one of the major barriers among students nowadays. When someone procrastinates, he wastes time that he could be spending on doing something meaningful. This can be avoided by following the schedule correctly, by time management and by not considering things casually. The common mistake we observe nowadays is that we don’t start the task at the proper time and later we try to postpone it.

A proper study schedule leads to good grades. The study habits and patterns that one inculcates is reflected in his academic performance and drives him to a successful career path. The proper follow of study patterns and managing proper time is the key to score higher grades.
